Koh Lipe, located in the heart of Thailand’s Tarutao National Marine Park, is one of the best dive destinations in Southeast Asia. Known for its crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and diverse marine life, Koh Lipe offers dive sites for every level — from first-time divers to seasoned professionals.

Whether you’re looking for gentle reefs, dramatic pinnacles, drift dives, or even a wreck, this guide covers the best dive sites in Koh Lipe, organized by difficulty and experience level.

Pattaya corner

This is one of the easiest and most popular sites around Koh Lipe, perfect for beginners, Try Dives (onde-day diving experience for beginners), or divers working on their Open Water Certification. Expect calm conditions, shallow depths (5–12 meters), and a wide variety of marine life, including clownfish, lionfish, parrotfish, and moray eels.

Koh Hin Ngam

Just a short boat ride from the island, this site features beautiful sloping reefs and boulders. It’s part of Mu Ko Tarutao National Park, offering healthy coral growth and species like trumpetfish, butterflyfish, and nudibranchs. Ideal for beginner dives or relaxed afternoon fun dives.

Honeycomb Reef

An underrated but scenic shallow dive site. Coral bommies and sandy patches attract trumpetfish, shrimp gobies, and moray eels. With gentle currents and high visibility, it’s perfect for photographers and newly certified divers.

Koh Taru

With deeper coral blocks, boulders, and plenty of marine activity, Koh Taru is great for Advanced dives. Expect occasional current and sightings of schooling fusiliers, blue-spotted rays, and trevallies.

Koh Adang Wall

Located just north of Koh Lipe, this vertical reef wall offers a range of sponges, soft corals, and sea fans. The site is ideal for drift diving and deep training dives, with depths from 10 to 30 meters.

Stonehenge

Stonehenge is often cited as Koh Lipe’s most beautiful dive site. Large coral heads and barrel sponges dot the seafloor between 8 to 25 meters. Marine life includes angelfish, lionfish, and on lucky days, leopard sharks.

8 Mile Rock

Located about 90 minutes from Koh Lipe by boat, this is a deep pinnacle dive starting at 14 meters and dropping beyond 40. It’s exposed to strong currents, which attract large pelagics such as barracuda, trevally, and tuna. Occasionally, whale sharks make an appearance.

Far Islands

These remote islands feature pristine coral reefs with limited diver traffic, offering some of the most untouched sites in the region. Depths range from 12 to 30 meters, and marine life includes groupers, sea snakes, and turtles.
